Life after Lund

No big news today, people joined the welcome party at Kårhuset yesterday, which was apparently the same as last year, with crappy music and an endless queue at the cloakroom. Claire said it feld like a highschool prom, with the big hall, beer in plastic cups and people behaving like nuts :)



The weather is rainy and windy with no trace of snow so far, but I got stuff to do for my courses, so catch you another time!

Oh, that's sooo typical... people of course couldn't get going yesterday evening, so we arrived too late at VG and it was full. Somebody said Smålands is open as well, so we took a cab and realized that there's no party going on and we finally walked to Wermlands, queued up for another half an hour and finally could get in. The securities were serious about thoroughly cheking the documents as usual, so nothing has really changed. Going to nations still means queueing up and having lots of patience.

Today was the last course-free day for me, so I took it pretty easy hanging around, replying emails and stuff. One interesting thing happend, I got interviewed for Lundagård, the student newspaper! And that's so funny, because the chief editor wrote me an email the day before I left to Lund about doing a phone interview! So it was pretty cool to do it in person and on spot! The interview was about the problems with integrating exchange students into the swedish student community and how possible solutions could look like. The article will appear in the next Lundagård issue, so I'll keep you informed.



Oh, and I learned something new about Aussie food: rum balls! All you need is two Aussies, some crushed cookies, condensed milk, cocoa and some rum (you shouldn't have problems finding it on a table after a party). Mix it all together, shape small balls and put it in the fridge. Tastes great!

So that's the story: I'm as good as done with my bachelor's at my home university, handed in my thesis yesterday (what a great feeling!). And just the same day I was off to Lund with the night train. Arrived this morning in rainy, misty copenhagen, took the Øresund-train and got off in Lund. Feels quite strange to be in a place I'm connected to and not having you guys around. I left my luggage at south spoletorp (a friend of mine is staying there) and went to the housing office to pick up the key to a room without knowing which place I was put in. I was opting for a swedish corridor in Delphi, so I could pick up more Swedish (that's the language of course ;)). Well, what do I get? Tadaaa! South Spoletorp!!! I couldn't believe it. So close to our home, but so different... The good thing was, I didnt have to drag my luggage around Lund, just took it two floors up.
So, that's an international corridor again, let's see how this develops.



My courses start on friday, so what do you do with a wednesday evening? Right! VG's! :) Be advised, I'll raise a beer for you, mates!

Well, what can I say - thats's true! And I still can't believe that it all worked out. I'm pretty busy finishing my thesis here, so more news will follow soon. Halloa! Alla mina fantastiska vanner*! Hallo dear friends!!

This will be a short post with a disclaimer and a couple of other quick thoughts! Reason being - I posted an extensive account of my recent activities a month ago but it totally disappeared for some strange reason and now I can't be bothered to repeat it alll.. it was quite a long one. But it went something like.."OMG I am so busy with work and studies, I have to finish this 2nd BA and this internship and do some serious travelling to see my mates here and there..and this and that." All in all, it was a great post ..had 3 nice pics from Baku where I had a workshop in early Dec. Maybe some day will try to write it again..Not now!

Now, straight to business - I might be turning the lifeafterlund blog into kindof a personal one, but it's just cuz 1. it is becoming so fashionable nowadays to have a personal blog - I would be totally behind the ages without one and 2. lukas has made this cool and classic layout that I especially love. So, Lukas, mate - this is an official invitation to u for a joint-blogging activities on this one. I need ur professional help on posting!! Everyone else is invited to participate, actively - come on, u guys.., and don't complain if u see only my posts over and over! I am taking it over..a ha ha!
